Studio in Old Town Bluffton, SC

Can you believe it’s that time of year again?! I feel like I JUST had my holiday mini sessions but that was already a year ago! This year I’ve decided to host two dates - one on a Saturday and one on a Sunday - for all of the busy families organizing weekends around football games, kids’ sports schedules, and trips.

Mini sessions are 20 minutes long and meant to go pretty quickly once you're here. So, here are a couple of details for you as you prepare for your time:

  • Not sure what to wear? Here are some of my ideas for your outfits: https://www.the2654project.com/blog/whatshouldiweartomyphotoshoot

  • You will have your choice of the black, grey, or white backdrop. If we have time left during your shoot to roll out a second backdrop, we most definitely will!

  • You can plan on it taking anywhere between 2-4 weeks to receive your images back.

Ideas for your shoot:

In my experience, most holiday mini sessions are used for Christmas/Hanukkah/New Year’s cards, but that doesn’t mean they need to look like everyone else’s! I say stand out and be unique. Try something different from all of the other cards you receive each season. Here are some of my ideas to help your family card make it front and center on your neighbor’s refrigerator door…

  • Christmas pjs! - You have scoured the internet for the best ones and may even make your spouse where them, too. Well, let’s capitalize on a little fun and your hours on the internet and photograph the whole family in holiday pajamas!

  • Bring your own props - A holiday wreath, a family sign, hats, a string of bulb lights, mistletoe, pumpkins, whatever you can think of that will fit in my studio door (and take two seconds to clean up, ha!)

  • Halloween costumes - Do you love your kids’ costumes this year? This is a super fun way to capture them! And, if you choose the October 2nd date, you can have them photographed before they get sticky with candy. ;)

  • Bring a family bench, stool, wooden rocking chair

  • Bring a traditional holiday book that is special to your family

  • Dress your pet in a holiday costume and bribe them with treats to be in your photos
